The main ingredient of the drug is tadalafil. It is part of a group of drugs called phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. PDE5 inhibitors increase blood flow by relaxing blood vessels in penile muscles. The ability to relax muscles helps with benign prostatic hyperplasia by allowing the person to urinate more easily, while its ability to relax blood vessels allows Tadasoft to fight erectile dysfunction and/or pulmonary hypertension.

The drug may cause mild or serious side effects. Some of the most common side effects are headache, heartburn, nausea, flushing, diarrhoea, dizziness, persistent cough, decrease/loss of vision, change in colour vision, hearing loss, allergic skin reaction, prolonged and painful erection, difficulty in breathing, difficulty in swallowing, uterine bleeding, pain in the arms, legs and the back.
